2. General presentation of the study programme

The aim of the B.Sc. Programme is to provide students with design skills based on scientific knowledge and technical know-how in addition to a cultural awareness that will help them to place the design work in a precise social, economic and production context. The Degree Programme offers training for architectural design with a broad outlook, defined in relation to the emerging needs of society, the economy and production. Graduates will gain the skills that constitute an essential prerequisite for gaining admission to the Master of Science Degree programmes aimed at training architects and civil and architectural engineers in accordance with EU directives. The Degree Programme is offered at two Politecnico campuses, in Milano and Mantua, which share the same teaching objectives.

3. Learning objectives

Numerous and widely differing subjects are offered as part of the Degree Programme: from architectural and urban design, to the history of architecture; from restoration theories and techniques, to structural design; from building technology and construction, to urban planning design; from technical physics, to sociology, geography and economics; and from mathematics to architectural drawing. With so many different subjects, integration between subjects and teaching modules is the criterion that forms the structure of the study programme. The Degree Programme makes use of a strong and easily understandable synergy between design workshops and courses – both single subject and integrated - while maintaining the independence and specific identity of the teachings of design. The latter consists of subject courses, integrated courses and a number of basic Workshops where students are expected to acquire notions related to the subject areas considered essential to their technical training and cultural maturity. Design teaching is organised into Workshops. Through applied experience, students are expected to acquire the methodological skills required to create an architectural design starting from a clear definition of the design objectives, up to the assessment of the technical feasibility of the proposed solutions, organising the various areas of knowledge acquired both inside and outside the university into a system. The multidisciplinary nature of the design is analysed in depth through a thematic design experience at the end of the programme, in the final semester, and entrusted to a group of lecturers associated with various subject areas. Students are asked to articulate, consistently with this final design experience, all of the skills acquired during the Degree Programme. The student’s curriculum is completed with an internship which, while of limited duration, is an essential opportunity for contact with the working world in professional, business and public administration settings, depending upon the student’s specific field of interest. Graduates must possess the fundamental knowledge of the subject areas in order to fully comprehend the complexity of transformation processes in the built environment. In this sense, graduates must be familiar with the literature produced in the field of architecture in its technical, scientific and humanistic forms and possess the traditional and advanced tools that will allow them to develop and communicate actions of interpretation, analysis and intervention. Graduates must be able to apply their knowledge of the subjects and tools acquired during their studies to analyse problems with a sufficiently broad, in-depth and complete outlook, in reference to various contextual scales (region, city, neighbourhood, building, building system) and their various levels of interaction. In order to fulfil these requirements, graduates in Architecture Science will be qualified to:

• propose appropriate and coherent solutions to the problem being addressed, with cultural awareness and technical competence;
• demonstrate an ability to critically analyse contexts on a spatial, social and economic level in relation to quantitative and qualitative aspects;
• contextualise the project in an appropriate manner with respect to different scales of intervention, anticipating the impact that the proposed changes may have on spatial and social assets and supporting the selected objectives and reasons behind the design decisions made at various levels;
• communicate the results of the analysis and design using appropriate tools, including innovative means, for both expert and non-expert stakeholders;
• possess the verbal and communication skills that enable them to argue the reasons for their design choices in a clear and appropriate manner. On the basis of the knowledge acquired, graduates will therefore be able to expand and update their knowledge and skills, with particular reference to the most innovative areas.

The Bachelor of Science degree provides access to the "Laurea Magistrale" (Master of Science Degree), the "Master Universitario di primo livello" (1st level Master of Science Degree) and to postgraduate specialisation courses.

Graduates in Architecture Science have several options for continuing their studies:

-             Master of Science in Architecture at the School of Architecture and Society. Admission is granted with no supplementary course requirements in accordance with the rules established by the University and the School.

This degree provides graduates with a professional title that meets the requirements imposed by the European Union;

- Master of Science courses, taught at the University or elsewhere, on subjects of specific interest, with admission policies established by the facility offering the course;

- 1st level Master of Science Degree, taught at the University or elsewhere, on subjects of specific interest, with admission policies established by the facility offering the course;

- Postgraduate Specialisation Courses, taught at the University or elsewhere, on subjects of specific interest, with admission policies established by the facility offering the course.

5.1 Professional status of the degree

Graduates of Architecture Science work for public and private institutions, promotional and design companies, professional firms operating in the areas of design, construction and the transformation of the city and the regions. These graduates may enrol in professional associations, particularly the Board reserved for junior architects, after passing the relevant state professional examination. 6. Enrolment

6.1 Access requirements

The activation of the B.Sc. Programme in Architectural Design in academic year 2014-2015, which brings together in a single Degree Programme (L-17) the four degree programmes in the same degree class currently offered at the Politecnico di Milano, involves the progressive deactivation of the Degree Programme in Architecture Science, which will end with the graduation of the current cycle in academic year 2015-2016.

Therefore, in academic year 2014-2015, new students will not be accepted for the B.Sc. Programme in Architecture Science and only the courses of the second and third years will be activated, as well as some tuition pro tempore required to enable repeating students to complete the courses included in the B.Sc. programme bulletin of the degree programme that was active at the time of their enrolment.

6.4 Tutoring and students support

Student orientation and tutoring programmes are offered in the first and second semesters.

 6.5 Transfer from one Programme to another

Students enrolled in the second or third years may be admitted to the Degree Programme without taking a new entrance test under the following conditions:

-          students originating from a Degree Programme included in Degree Class L-17 without an entrance test if at least 60 credits have been recognised for Architectural Science courses completed;

-          students originating from a Degree Programme included in Degree Class L-17 WITH an entrance test if at least 60 credits have been recognised for Architectural Science courses completed;

-          students originating from a Degree Programme not included in Degree Class L-21 are required to take the entrance test

Transfer between campuses

As the first year of the degree programme has been discontinued, students are only permitted to transfer between the Milan and Mantua campuses in the second year if they have completed their 1st year study plan and acquired the necessary marks

7. Contents of the study Program

7.1 Programme requirements

The final degree is awarded to students who have earned 180 credits, as specified in the Academic Regulations. The minimum standard guaranteed by law for the various educational activities is: 44 credits for basic educational activities (Disciplines: Mathematics for Architects, Engineering physics and Plant Design for Architects, History of Architecture and Architectural and Environmental Representation); 64 credits for specialised activities (Architectural and Urban Design, Theory and techniques for architectural restoration, structural analysis and design for architecture, and urban design and regional planning, Technological disciplines for architecture and construction, and Valuation disciplines for architecture and urban planning); 18 credits for related activities; 10 credits for the internship and final exam and 20 credits for other activities.

The final degree (Bachelor of Science) is awarded to graduates who have earned a total amount of 180 credits throughout the degree programme. Academic credits measure the academic work (including individual study) required of students to acquire the knowledge and skills envisaged by their B.Sc. Programmes. For all Degree Programmes at the School of Architecture and Society, one university credit corresponds to a total of 25 hours of work. The average volume of learning work performed in one year by a full-time university student is set conventionally at 60 credits. Individual study or other educational activities of an individual kind must account for at least half of each student's total annual commitment in hours. The credits related to each educational activity are earned by students by obtaining positive assessments of progress (examination, certification of activities performed). For each semester, students may choose Study Programmes with a number of credits that differ from those specified in the degree programme bulletin in order to tailor the progress of their studies to suit their individual needs. However, the total number of credits required to earn a degree will be 180. During the study programme, the contribution required is related to the number of credits entered each time on the student’s study plan. The minimum number of credits for which students can enrol is 30, unless they require a lower number of credits to complete their programme. In accordance with the precedence rules stated in the regulations, the maximum number of credits for which students can enrol in one year is 80.

The registration of credits must comply with the sequence of modules envisaged by the B.Sc. Programme Bulletin and the precedence rules indicated in section 14.7 below.

All of the elements in the study plan (including the internship and final exam) are considered when calculating tuition fees.

Tuition fees are calculated based on the provisions of the Regulations (link: http://www.polimi.it/studenti/guide/). The 180 credits that make up this Degree Programme are listed in section 7.3. below and respect the minimum standard guaranteed by law for the basic educational activities of an L-17 Degree in Architecture Science (Law 270/2004).

The minimum standard guaranteed by law for the various educational activities is as follows:

-  44 credits for basic educational activities (Disciplines: Mathematics, Engineering Physics and Plant Design, History of Architecture and Architectural Representation).

- 64 credits for specialised activities (Architectural and Urban Design, Theories and Techniques of Architectural Restoration, Architectural Analysis and Structural Design, Urban design and rural planning, Technological disciplines for architecture and construction, and Valuation disciplines for architecture and urban planning);

- 18 credits for related activities;

- 16 credits for other activities;

- 10 credits for the internship and final exam.

7.2 Mode of study

The Degree Programme is a full-time course and includes participation in educational activities consisting of lectures and tutorials (single-subject and integrated courses), workshop activities, seminars and educational visits.

Workshops

Attendance at Workshops and Thematic Workshops is compulsory for all Degree Programmes. The attendance certificate, required in order to be admitted to the final exam, must be prepared by the lecturer in charge of the workshop. Any other compulsory attendance required for the programme will be established in accordance with the school's regulations. Such requirements are published on the school's website (www.arch.polimi.it) and communicated to students by the relative lecturers at the start of the course. The uniformity of the attendance rules for all sections of the same module is guaranteed. The lecturer teaching the course is responsible for ascertaining attendance based on criteria consistent with the organisation of the course, which will be notified to students when the course begins. These requirements may involve classroom attendance and active participation by students.

For these courses that do not require mandatory attendance, exam procedures reserved for non-attendees will be posted on the lecturer’s page and communicated at the start of the course.

7.3 Detailed learning objectives

The term “previously approved study plans”, used in the web applications refers to the approval of the manner in which the teaching is organised within the sections; it does not mean that the choices made by students when compiling their Study Plans are approved in advance.

When completing their study plans, each student must state a certain number of preferences (maximum of four) for Workshops, Various workshops are offered, led by different lecturers. MILAN

Modelling Workshop

The Model and Prototype Workshop is for use by students of the Schools of Architecture and Society and Construction/Architectural Engineering at the Leonardo Campus. The workshop is equipped for building models using traditional and digital technologies. Before students may access the workshop, they must attend a safety meeting focused on occupational safety (Legislative Decree 626/94) and reserve a place in advance.

 Library

The Central Architecture Library contains approximately 60,000 Italian and international scientific works, mainly dedicated to architecture, art, urban planning, design, interior design, landscape, restoration and museology. One section in particular is devoted to works on the city of Milan. All texts used and recommended for B.Sc. Programme courses at the Schools of Architecture and Design are available at the library. In the reference section, it is possible to consult general and specialised encyclopaedias, as well as annuals and codes on the subjects of urban planning and construction. Approximately 1000 journals are also available, 400 of which are currently under subscription. Summaries of periodicals related to architecture and art as well as a large collection of publications focusing on the same subjects are available for consultation on CD ROM.  Modelling Workshop

The workshop allows students to use machine tools such as milling and sanding machines, drills, jig saws and various manual tools for model making. Access to the modelling workshop and use of the tools in it is subject authorisation by the relevant lecturer. 14. Further information

14.1 Compulsory Additional Modules - OFA

In light of the changes resulting from the discontinuance of the first year of the degree programme in Architectural Science, students enrolled in the degree programme up until Academic Year 2013-2014 who have not passed the Mathematics and/or English OFA at the time of submission of their study plan for academic year 2014-15 will, on a transitional basis for one year, have the chance to formulate their study plan in the second year subject to the understanding that they may not sit the exams until the previously identified OFAs have been passed.

 

14.1.1 Mathematics OFA

With regard to the Mathematics OFA – these compulsory additional modules must be passed by the end of Academic Year 2014-2015

There are two alternative methods for satisfying the requirements:

The Mathematics OFA must be completed in the first year of the degree programme according to one of the below procedures:

-       by taking an online mathematics test (TOM), with a test with attendance in accordance with the schedule announced on the University’s website (http://www.polimi.it/studenti/avvisi/);

-       by passing the final exam of the Mathematics course during the examination sessions scheduled in the Academic Calendar 2014-2015

An online course will be made available to support the student’s preparation to fulfil the OFA requirement.

1) at least 70% of students are required to attend the remedial courses organised by the University. See the academic calendar and related notices for the beginning of the Mathematics OFA course. At the end of the remedial courses, students must take an assessment test (TOM)

2) by passing the final exam of the Mathematics course during the examination sessions scheduled in the Academic Calendar 2014-2015[L1] .

14.1.2 English OFA (TENG)

As of the 2008/2009 Academic Year, the University has established a minimum level of English proficiency that must be met in order to be admitted to the degree courses. If this prerequisite is not met, the student will be assigned an English OFA (Compulsory Additional Module) which includes limitations for the continuation of their university career. 14.1.3 Deadlines for submitting plans after meeting OFA requirements

The Student Orientation Office assigns students who have met their OFA requirements to workshops or other equivalent courses based on merit and the number of places available. The deadlines for submitting hard copy Study Plans for students (with the exception of first-year students) who have met the OFA requirements for both mathematics and English, are:

• no later than 14/11/2014 for the submission of the annual plan
• no later than 06/03/2015 for the submission of 2nd semester plans only.

Students will not be allowed to submit Plans after the above dates, to allow lessons to be held normally and to prevent any changes in the balance between workshop sections allocated according to merit. Students are not allowed to attend workshops or courses that are not included in their study plans. In no case may assessments related to activities not included in study plans or attended at times not allocated in the sections be recognised or confirmed.

 

14.1.4 Submission of study plans

Each student is responsible for submitting an individual study plan. The School considers the plan to be a reference document for all intents and purposes. Its contents also attest to the conformity of the choices made by the student with the standards set by legal regulations and the provisions of the Rules of the B.Sc. Programme.

N.B.: Students are strongly encouraged to save and print the study plan submitted.

Requests for changes to study plans will not be accepted. The submission of the study plan is final and must be completed in accordance with the deadlines and procedures established in these Regulations.

 

14.1.4.1 First year

Students who have not passed their first year exams in Academic Year 2013-2014 should be advised that the courses included in the 1st year study plan will remain valid, however it will be necessary to re-enrol for the Workshops (Representation Workshop, Design Workshop and Urban Planning Workshop).

New students must enter their study plans online or via the Poliself stations by the deadline stated on the Academic Calendar. Students who do not submit study plans by the due date will be automatically enrolled for all modules of the 1st year of the Programme, assigned in alphabetical order. They will not be enrolled in workshops that assign students based on merit.

14.1.4.2 Subsequent years

Students enrolled in subsequent years must enter their study plans by the deadline stated on the Academic Calendar. Students that fail to do so will be assigned a study plan by the University (up to a maximum of 60 credits) which will include any courses that must be repeated, and will be enrolled in workshops for the 2nd and 3rd year with places allocated depending on availability.

14.1.4.3 Late fees

By resolution of the Board of Directors, a late fee of 100.00 Euros will apply for failure to submit a study plan by the due date stated in the Academic Calendar. The penalty will be applied to the second instalment of tuition fees.

Students will be assigned to various single-subject and integrated course sections in alphabetical order determined by the University. Workshops and courses chosen by students based on preference will be assigned using merit-based criteria (see section 14.6 “Assignment Criteria” below). Once established, assignments cannot be changed.

14.2 Changes to Study Plans

From 27/02/2015 to 05/03/2015 changes may be made to study plans using the Poliself stations. Changes may be made only to the courses offered in the second semester as follows:

• change optional courses;
• add single subject or integrated courses, sub-divided alphabetically
• remove single subject or integrated courses, sub-divided alphabetically

It will not be possible to remove, add or modify Workshop sections.

14.3 “Available” Credits

Exams related to courses in the 2nd semester that have been added to the plan once again and passed in the February exam session during the last session for the previous academic year, will make credits “available” for inclusion in the change plan for the 2nd semester.

Since workshops cannot be added to the 2nd semester change plan, students who think they may have available credits are advised to enter the workshops when submitting their plans in September, postponing the inclusion of single-subject or integrated courses until the 2nd semester change plan.

14.4 Additional courses

Students are not permitted to add additional courses offered by the Master of Science Degree Programme in Architecture.

Students may add additional courses to their study plans, chosen from the list of those offered by the Degree Programme in Architecture Science.

These courses are not included in the calculation of valid credits and are not taken into account when calculating the average score for admission to the final exam and for graduation.

The total number of valid and additional credits for each academic year must not exceed 80.

The addition of courses to the study plan is subject to compliance with the precedence restrictions.

14.5 Individual courses

The University permits students to attend individual courses subject to payment of the enrolment fee for the course. Only non-Politecnico students may enrol in individual courses. Enrolment in individual courses is subject to the availability of places in the course itself. Admission to courses gives the right to attend lessons, take exams at the sessions envisaged during the academic year and obtain certification of the score of the exams passed and the corresponding credits earned. Enrolment for individual courses may be requested for a maximum of 30 credits per year for those who wish to extend their studies. Interested candidates should submit the enrolment application form and the payment form (available at www.polimi.it/modulistica during the appropriate period) to the Registrar’s Office.

The list of available courses will be published on the school’s website www.arch.polimi.it.

14.6 Criteria for assigning students to sections, optional courses and workshops

The preferences indicated by students with regard to sections and workshops will be allocated according to the following criteria:

A score of 30/30 with honours will be calculated as equal to 33/30. The available places will be assigned according to a merit classification based on the student’s first stated preference. Students that still have not been assigned places after the first evaluation will be included in a second evaluation using the same method based on the number of places still available for the workshops. To avoid any possibility that delays in registration or recognition of the exams taken may penalise students, parameter G will be calculated on the student’s academic career as at the summer session. First-year students in the second phase of enrolment will be assigned to workshops based on availability, not on merit.

 

14.6.1 Erasmus

Marks earned by students returning from the Erasmus programme will not be accepted for courses other than those previously approved in the student’s study programme.

14.7 Precedence of courses and conditions for progression to the next stage of the B.Sc. programme based on successful completion of examinations

In addition to the progression of studies listed in the B.Sc. Program Bulletin, the B.Sc. Programmes may apply the following types of precedence approved by the Academic Senate:

Recommended Order	Does not define any formal restriction. Its purpose is to provide useful information to students regarding course sequence but has no influence on the study plan or the recording procedure.
Study plan Order	Defines a restriction that must be observed when choosing courses for entry in study plans. Course B may not be entered in the study plan unless course A is also entered (even if it has not been completed). It has no influence on the recording procedure.
Recording Order	Defines a restriction that must be observed both when choosing the courses for inclusion in the study plan and when ‘positive’ results (passed courses) are recorded. Course B cannot be recorded as ‘passed’ unless course A has also recorded as ‘passed’.

 

The following instructions apply to the Degree Programme in Architecture Science:

- recording precedence: the examination for the course “Instituzioni di Matematiche” must be recorded prior to the third year examinations.

- recommended precedence: the courses in the Degree Programme are organised in a sequence that offers students a path for progressively acquiring the necessary skills and abilities. Since this progression is a condition for obtaining the best education, students are strongly discouraged from participating in Workshops before they have taken the single-subject and integrated courses that provide the basic knowledge and skills necessary to obtain the most out of the study programme. Students are also strongly encouraged to take all 1st year exams and those in the first semester of the 2nd year before taking any 3rd year courses.

Recommended order:

- the course “Tecnologia” (1st year) should be taken before “Laboratorio di Costruzione dell’Architettura 1” (2nd year)

- the course “Teorie e progetto di costruzioni e strutture” or “Statica e principi di progettazione delle strutture” (2nd year) should be taken before the course “Scienze delle costruzioni” (3rd year)

 

14.8 Attendance requirements and certification methods

The B.Sc. Programme includes participation in educational activities consisting of lectures and tutorials (single-subject and integrated courses), workshop activities, seminars, educational visits.

Workshops

Attendance at Workshops, including Thematic Workshops, is compulsory for all Degree Programmes. The compulsory attendance must be at least 70%. The attendance certificate, required in order to sit the final exam, must be prepared by the lecturer in charge of the workshop. Any other compulsory attendance required for the programme is established in accordance with the school's regulations. Such requirements will be posted on the school's website (www.arch.polimi.it) and communicated to students by the relative lecturers at the start of the course. The uniformity of attendance rules for all sections of the same module is guaranteed. The lecturer teaching the course is responsible for ascertaining attendance based on criteria consistent with the organisation of the course, which will be notified to students when the course begins. These requirements may involve classroom attendance and active participation by students.

Single-subject or integrated courses

These courses do not require student attendance and exam procedures reserved for non-attendees will be posted on the lecturer’s page and communicated at the start of the course.

 

14.9 Assessment of learning

Suitable forms of coordination are used to guarantee the uniformity of the learning assessment methods and their scheduling between all sections of the same course, according to the directives of the Degree Programmes. The main rules in this regard are as follows:

•         lecturers may schedule interim tests. Such tests may be used as an assessment method or they may contribute to the final assessment. Such methods will be posted on the school's website and notified to students by the relative teaching staff once the courses begin. In any case, students that fail or do not take interim tests will not be prevented from taking subsequent exams in the three examination sessions.
•         in workshops for which attendance is compulsory, interim tests will be considered an additional contribution to the final assessment and will consist of an assessment of the progress of the design activity. Students that fail to meet the attendance requirements will not be admitted to the examination sessions and will have to repeat the workshop.

Students are always required to enrol for the exam sessions. Students are not allowed to take examinations for courses or workshops for which they have not been properly registered. Based on their learning assessments, students may:

• pass the course, with the assignment of marks;
• be required to resit the exam, with a subsequent assessment;
• be required to repeat, if they have not met the Programme requirements or passed the exam by the third examination session; in this case attendance of the module is no longer valid and to continue their studies students must attend the module again.

Three exam sessions are planned for each module (courses and workshops). Each exam session will be held on at least two dates, both at the student’s disposition.

Final year students must take the exam on the first date to allow enough time for graduation registration procedures to be completed within the planned deadline.

14.10 Self-certification of passing of examinations

If, when submitting a study plan, an exam has already been taken (for which the marks are already known) but has not yet been recorded in the student’s career record, the student may issue a self-certification stating that the exam has been passed.

N.B. In order for the examination result to be deemed valid, the student must be officially enrolled in the course or workshop and registered for the relevant examination session. Students are not permitted to self-certify courses for which the exam has not yet been taken when compiling their study plan. Students who provide false statements will be prevented from registering for the exam session for which the self-certification was made and will not be allowed to include the course or workshop on their study plan until the next academic year.

 

14.11 Conclusion of the study programme and graduation

In order to obtain their Degree, students must earn credits for the courses listed in the B.Sc. Programme Bulletin and fulfil the requirements of the Degree Programme, including:

• activities chosen by the students;

• internships;

• final examination (see section 7.5).

 

14.11.1 Activities chosen by the student

These activities may be chosen from those offered as part of, or outside, the B.Sc. Programme. The former are considered to be automatically approved. Any other choices must be authorised in advance by the school which, once their relevance and consistency has been assessed, will assign a number of credits for each specific case. In order for students to earn the credits associated with the learning activity, students enrolled in the B.Sc. Programme in Environmental Architecture may choose from optional courses and workshops that the School of Architecture will activate from Academic Year 2013-2014. Regular students may choose up to 2 workshops (max 8 credits), while repeating students may choose one workshop (4 credits). In any case, when choosing between workshops and elective courses, students need to ensure that that their study plans meet the minimum standard required by current regulations for the different learning activities (see section 7.1).

N.B. Before selecting optional courses, students must confirm that there are no scheduling conflicts with other activities on their plan.

 

14.11.2 Internships

The School cooperates with professional associations, public administrations, regional bodies and businesses to organise outside internships in order to provide students with an opportunity to earn the credits required by the regulation. The rules for the length of the internship will be defined by the Degree Programmes, according to the School's regulations. 14.12 Access to the Master of Science Degree Programmes

The B.Sc. Degree in Architecture Science provides access to the “Laurea Magistrale” (Master of Science Degree Programme), the "Master Universitario di primo livello" (1st level Master of Science) and to post graduate training courses.

Students of the School of Architecture and Society that graduate within 4 years of first registering and who, as of 30 September of the 2nd year of registration, have met the required N/V parameter (credits/average marks taken from the study plan) may gain admission to the Master of Science Degree Programme in Architecture.

The required parameters, based on the student’s year of admission, are as follows:

-          First year students enrolled from the academic year 2003/04 up to the academic year 2009/10: N/V 104/25

-          First year students enrolled from the academic year 2010/11: N/V 104/27

Students who do not meet the required parameters will be selected based on the Admission Regulations that can be downloaded from the appropriate section of the School's website www.arch.polimi.it.

 

14.12.1 Knowledge of English

N.B. - Important change

English Proficiency Certificates must be submitted by the application submission deadline:

• 08/09/2014 for admission in October
• 02/02/2015 for admission in March

 

Students are advised to obtain certification well enough in advance since sessions are never held more than once a month and at least 20 days are required to obtain the results.

 

SPECIFIC NOTES

Students enrolled in the 3rd year will be assigned to one of the following courses based on merit:

Economica e valutazione dei progetti urbani

Geografia Urbana

Sociologia

Diritto amministativo per l’architettura

When retaking courses for a second time, students may not be assigned to the same section as the previous academic year due to the merit-based criteria.

First-year students enrolled in 2013/2014 must pass the Mathematics course before they can take 3rd year exams.

Important note: as of the academic year 2015/2016, the previous rule will also apply to students enrolled before 2013/2014.
