2. General presentation of the study programme

 

As is known, the Building Sector has quite an important place in the economies of Italy and Europe, because of the extent of the investments made, the mobilisation of material resources, jobs, and also for what it "generates" in other industrial sectors.

In this market, one of the most interesting environments for occupational repercussions and for the consistency of economic interest involved is the so-called management of built, namely those activities aimed at guaranteeing the maintenance and upgrading over time of the performances of a building, in order to maximise its profitability and/or market value.

New skills are required from sector operators; management of the built environment therefore does not seem to be a situation phenomenon, but something that is continually taking shape as a true strategic development sector, the definition of which is a miscellaneous set of technical, economic, organisational, social and cultural factors, among which:

• • the reduction in the new building sector and the growth in investments - both Italian and foreign - in already-existing property. This is mainly caused by the progressive ageing of the building heritage (which is undergoing both physical neglect and functional obsolescence) and by the gradual saturation of the built territory. In particular, the majority of the building stock produced in the 50s and 60s, which is characterised by the use of low quality products and processes, is in growing need of intervention;

  • structural transformations - both as far as quality and quantity are concerned – regarding the request;

  • system upgrading in buildings to the multiple standards (fire prevention, wheelchair accessibility, electric system safety, noise insulation, energy efficiency, etc.);

  • raising of the quality standards of the buildings;

  • changes in the culture of users, regarding both the concept of environmental quality and preservation of the existing quality, the saving of energy and materials and attention to materials that damage health;

  •  the increasing attention paid by industrial and service companies to real estate development, testified by the ever more important weight of this type of component in planning and strategies aimed at creating economic value;

  •  the growing interest of financial markets in real estate, as shown also by the spreading of investment funds, with the resulting development of strategies for enhancing real estate heritage.

   

  The result is innovation phenomena and modification of traditional organisation assets, such as:

  • the appearance of new forms of management that can be integrated, namely facility management, asset management and property management, which see the creation of new professional figures, new forms of involvement for sub-suppliers, with innovations in the contractual mechanisms of client-supplier relationship adjustment (think, for example, about the relatively recent spread of global service contracts);

  • the maturation of traditional institutes/companies that manage real estate, which are transforming their business profiles from simple operation management into strategic management, passing from corrective maintenance logic to programmed maintenance logic and procedures;

  • the appearance of new suppliers of integrated management services for real estate, bringers of managerial culture, followed by the increasingly more frequent outsourcing policies.

   

  As a result of the reasons listed above and for needs strongly connected to the job market, the School offers this Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science), which is extremely innovative and unique in Italy.

3. Learning objectives

The professional figures that the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) programme proposes training must be able to operate in different built environment management fields, such as:

 

1. The design and organisation of maintenance. In this field, the figure can operate on two things:

• On the architecture of the maintenance service, operating to define maintenance strategies, and to formulate the information system and the maintenance plan.

• On service engineering, designing, with the support of technical managers and specialists, the maintenance service and its relative processes, identifying critical points, roles and duties, analysing the technical, organisational, financial and procedural contents of the programmed activities.

 

2. The design and organisation of integrated service management activities, which can involve the management of real estate. 

• The professional figure coordinates and controls maintenance at performance levels and the pre-set costs of all the physical components of the building stock, and also organises and manages all the activities necessary for his/her role.

 

3. The design and organisation of the building management service, aimed at guaranteeing maximum operation efficiency, preserving the performance characteristics of the building over the medium-long term, and maximising the obtainable income or, in the case of social housing, the keeping of the impact investment and of the community.

• The activities of the professional figure are mainly traceable to management: of the administrative acts (relations with the appointed Institutes); leasing and sub-leasing as lessor or lessee (including the drafting of contracts, periodic checks on the lease values, updating the ISTAT, managing deadlines and renewals, possible eviction procedures, management of responsibilities); tax and legal updating, insurance contracts.

 

4. The strategic management of real estate aimed at its development.

• The professional figure operates in the strategic management of real estate development, inclusive of the recognition of cultural values, in terms of both opportunities and protection duties: analysis and assessment of costs and benefits and the definition of the operative lines for changing, enhancing, transforming the destination of use or redefining the property; the operative and financial programming of identified operations; services aimed at searching for new tenants or buyers; organisation of the property transformations, by planning and coordinating a series of technical-juridical procedures.

 

In a nutshell, the identified fields can lead to two duty profiles, respectively in the area of asset and property management, and the technical-operative management of support services for the activities carried out in the built environment, namely facility management.

Regarding the educational path, students coming from different laurea (equivalent to Bachelor of Science) programmes taken at the other three Schools face courses that aim at levelling their basic knowledge and developing the first disciplinary acquisitions of the basic subject of building management.

The subsequent semesters (second and third) analyse the fundamental knowledge of architecture and building engineering, architectural technology, building production, management engineering, and the details of territorial, urban planning and economic aspects, with a basic knowledge of managing real estate with a particularly important cultural history, as well as their enhancement and possible systemisation. In addition, they are specifically prepared for building maintenance organisation and management.

The last semester finalises the knowledge acquired through seminars and laboratory experiences, both for carrying out internships that are a fundamental moment of contact with the job world in professional, company and/or public administration fields, and also for preparing a final thesis.

Laurea (equivalent to Bachelor of Science) or comparable foreign qualification

 

Graduate students with a first cycle degree (equivalent to Bachelor of Science) can be admitted to the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) Programme.

Graduate students with a second cycle degree (equivalent to Master of Science) can also be admitted if coming from a different class of degree.

 

Admission depends on the applicant’s assessment of merit and their previous careers.

As specified in the didactic regulations, 120 credits are required to obtain the degree.
Matters are those in typical fields such as Building Technology, Construction, Restoration, etc., while some more integrative courses are about law and management engineering. 15 credits are devoted to final laboratory and thesis work.

Double internal Master's degrees

 

The internal double degree programs are joint programs developed with another Study Course to integrate the skills of the Study Course with other disciplines in order to respond to the needs of some specific sectors through a new professional figure.

The following internal double degree programs are active:

- Master's degree program in "Management of Built Environment - Building Management LM-24" and Master's degree program in "Management Engineering LM-31"

The double degree aims to train professionals capable of strengthening the skills of a management engineer concerning the specific sector and providing Built Environment experts with in-depth management skills. In this way, students will become more aware of the difficulties related to building design, resource management, the interaction between management and technical issues at all stages of the construction cycle. In this connection, particular attention will be given to the problems of market globalization, innovation management, and logistics problems.

 

- Master's degree program in " Management of Built Environment - LM-24" and Master's degree program in" Urban Planning and Policy Design -LM-48 "

The double degree aims to train professionals capable of strengthening the skills of an urban and territorial planner in relation to the specific sector and providing Built Environment experts with in-depth urban planning and territorial policy skills. In this way, students will become more aware of the difficulties related to building design, resource management, the interaction between management and technical issues at all stages of the construction cycle. In this connection, particular attention will be given to the problems of energy and urban planning, innovation management, and real estate functions.

Professional profile in Smart Infrastructures

The Master programme in Management of Built Environment takes part in Politecnico di Milano’s Ambassador in Smart Infrastructure programme, aimed at strengthening the skills related to Smart Infrastructures in higher education.

The Ambassador in Smart Infrastructures is a MSc graduate with forefront systemic skills, interdisciplinary vision, digital skills, specific aptitude to innovation. The Ambassador in Smart Infrastructures profile corresponds to a professional figure with both advanced, specialized skills in relevant applications (infrastructures) and/or enabling technologies (smart), as well as transversal skills, which allow students to broaden their knowledge in the field of Smart Infrastructures and to adopt a systemic approach to design, management, innovation, and study of life cycle of infrastructures.

The training programme is articulated within the MSc educational path, and sets at 130 credits (thus at least extra 10 credits in addition to the standard MSc requirements) the minimum number of credits needed to complete the selected MSc and, at the same time, to qualify for the certification of Ambassador in Smart Infrastructures.

As part of the educational training, students must acquire at least 30 credits in courses related to the Ambassador in Smart Infrastructures profile, which have to be chosen among those proposed in Tables A and B shown below.

Table A indicates the compulsory specialized courses offered by the Master programme in Management of Built Environment and providing core skills in “smart infrastructures” to students attending the “Economic” / “Technical” track.

Table B indicates transversal courses offered across different programmes. Students attending the “Economic” track must select at least 21 credits from the table; students attending the “Technical” track must select at least 20 credits. Of these credits, 6 will count against the 120 required for graduation, while the other 15 (at least) will be extra credits for the “Economic” track and 14 credits (at least) will be extra credits for the “Technical” curriculum. The latter will entitle students to be awarded the PoliMI Ambassador in Smart Infrastructures.

The Ambassador in Smart Infrastructures certification will be reported in the Student’s Diploma Supplement and an electronic badge will be issued by Politecnico di Milano.

Students who will not obtain the required extra 10 credits and the 30 credits in training activities functional to the Ambassador in Smart Infrastructures profile will not be precluded from obtaining a MSc degree.

Politecnico di Milano aims at strengthening the skills related to Smart Infrastructures in the Master of Science degree programmes.

 

The goal is to create new professional profiles in Smart Infrastructures: MSc graduates with forefront systemic skills, interdisciplinary vision, digital skills, specific aptitude to innovation. The profile in Smart Infrastructures corresponds to a professional figure with both advanced, specialized skills in relevant applications (infrastructures) and/or enabling technologies (smart), as well as transversal skills, which allow students to broaden their knowledge in the field of Smart Infrastructures and to adopt a systemic approach to design, management, innovation, and study of life-cycle of infrastructures.

 

The training programme is articulated within the MSc educational path, and sets at 130 credits (thus at least extra 10 credits in addition to the standard MSc requirements) the minimum number of credits needed to complete the selected MSc and, at the same time, to qualify for the certification in Smart Infrastructures.

As part of the educational training, students must acquire at least 30 credits in courses related to the Smart Infrastructures profile, which have to be chosen among those proposed in the degree programme or among additional courses, as detailed in the specific information.

The Smart Infrastructures certification will be reported in the Student’s Diploma Supplement and in any other certificate issued by thePolitecnico di Milano.

Students who will not obtain the required extra 10 credits and the 30 credits in training activities functional to the Smart Infrastructures profile will not be precluded from obtaining a MSc degree.

International Mobility

The Politecnico di Milano offers the students various opportunities to spend periods studying abroad. The credits (ECTS) acquired, subject to the approval of a Learning Agreement, are recognized as an integral part of the curriculum.

International mobility may be for study (a) or a Double Degree (b):

a) period of study at partner universities in EU countries (Erasmus) and non-EU countries (bilateral agreements);

b) Double Degree projects with EU and non-EU universities.

Aside from these opportunities, international mobility  periods of variable lengths and natures are also possible, within international networks which the Politecnico is part of (Alliance4Tech, Athens, Idea League, UniTech).

The mobility for study generally lasts one term. It is potentially extendable, if allowed by the agreement with the partner university, for a further term, subject to authorization from the School Bodies (the Politecnico Teachers who promote the mobility for the partner university).

During the mobility for study, it is possible to acquire credits (ECTS) and/or carry out part of the thesis at the partner university. This opportunity for some universities is specified in the call and is coordinated by the proposing professor; where it is not specified, students may nominate a co-supervisor in the partner university, as long as the objectives and content are agreed with the supervisor, who must be a professor of the Politecnico di Milano. The final discussion of the thesis must take place at the Politecnico di Milano.

Students who take part in the Double Degree programme will obtain the Degree title from the Politecnico di Milano as well as from the partner university, after having acquired a total of 150 or 180 ECTS credits - according to the agreement - across the two universities.  Following the discussion of the thesis - in the ways agreed with the partner university - students will be awarded with two degree with two separate marks.

The conversion of the grades of the exams passed abroad is carried out, whenever possible, through the procedure reported in the "ECTS user guide". If this conversion is not possible, the validations will be processed "without grade".

Students who have carried out a period of international mobility for study abroad during their Laurea (Bachelor of Science) can apply again during their Laurea Magistrale (Master of Science).

Students are requested to read this information before submitting their application.

International mobility is supported by both the Politecnico and the European Union with the payment of a scholarship, the amount of which varies from year to year.

In order to be able to participate in international mobility programmes, either for study or for Double Degrees, students must submit their applications via the call for International Mobility, posted periodically on the Politecnico website and on the AUIC School’s website

Students selected for mobility cannot carry out the exchange during the first term of their first year of their Master Programme.

The selected students must agree with the Professor of Politecnico, Promoter of the partnered university where they have been assigned, a Learning Agreement, i.e. a Study Plan equivalent to the teachings at the foreign university.

The Politecnico does not require a minimum number of ECTS credits, though this may depend on the partner university or on administrative restrictions to obtain a visa that may be necessary for non-EU countries. 

When returning from the mobility for study, a maximum of 45 credits of teachings obtained abroad can be validated.

For students with previous career, the total sum of the credits from previous career and from international mobilitry cannot overcome the number of 45 credits.

For students who have not been selected for international mobility but who nonetheless wish to work on their thesis abroad, financial support is available thanks to the “Tesi all’estero” scholarship posted on the Politecnico di Milano website and the AUIC School’s website

 International Mobility for Internships

“FREE MOVER" mobility

Students who carry out an international mobility by organizing their own study period abroad are defined as "free movers".

This international mobility is not linked to an exchange program organized by Politecnico di Milano.

The freemover mobility must be approved, for the purpose of the recognition of credits and further constraints, by a referent of your course of study and will be recognized only the activities of:

- teaching attendance

- performance of thesis work

1 Admission to the Programme - Students with Italian Degrees

 

All candidates for admission to Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) Programmes at the School of Architecture Urban Planning Construction Engineering are required to submit an application for career assessment using the specific function available on the University website, in the Online Services section (www.polimi.it/servizionline).

 

1.1 Programme Requirements and Specifications

In addition to what is already specified in paragraph 6.1 of the Educational Rules, admission to the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) Programme in Management of Built Environment - Gestione del Costruito is permitted without educational debits for first-level graduate students in:

Admission is also permitted for graduate students with a Laurea (equivalent to Bachelor of Science) or a three-year university degree deemed eligible, with completion of the educational activities considered an essential curricular requirement as per the Category L-23 table.

For graduate students in categories other than L-23, previous career assessment may identify an educational debit to be filled prior to enrolment on the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science).

1.2 Procedures for Submission of Admission Applications for AUIC School Candidates

 

1.2.1 Programme and Previously Approved Study Plan Options

 

Candidates submitting an application for assessment must choose their Programme (CdS) together with their Previously Approved Study Plan (PSPA) options where required.

The University rules establish a maximum of three options for application for admission to Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) Programmes. It is therefore possible to indicate up to three Programme preferences.

For each Programme, it is possible to specify the available Previously Approved Study Plans in order of preference.

For AUIC School Programmes, the various Previously Approved Study Plan options within the same Programme are only counted once towards the maximum of three preferences that may be expressed.

Students may, within the established deadline, change/overwrite their choices up until the time the application is processed for assessment by the Commission.

 

1.2.2 Establishment of the Ranking List

The Commission, having assessed the candidate’s previous career, will admit him/her to one or more of the tracks offered.

Once enrolment has been confirmed, students admitted to the Programme may proceed with Study Plan submission.

 

 

1.3   Assessment Parameters

1.3.1 Students Automatically Entitled to Admission to the Politecnico di Milano

There is no automatic entitlement to admission.

 

1.3.2 Students Admitted with Assessment of Merit

Assessment is performed by the relevant Programme, which may award up to 100 points:

 

1. Order of the preferences expressed at the time of application for admission	Up to 15

3. Average at the end of the student’s 3-year course apportioned on a score of 40	Up to 40

Students with a minimum score of 54 are eligible for admission.

At each deadline date, the top ranked students are accepted based on the number of planned admissions. Should there be eligible students with equal scores, their precedence in the ranking will take into account their weighted average until all available places have been filled.

 

1.4 Documents Required for Students Admitted with Assessment of Merit

1.4.1 Students of the Politecnico di Milano

No documents should be attached to the assessment application. The previous career will be supplied to the Assessment Commissions by the Registrar's Office.

 

1.4.2 Students from Other Universities

•  Self-certification of the degree held (graduate students only)
•  Self-certification of examinations passed for at least 145 credits. Other certifications of any university degrees held: Masters, PhDs, and Postgraduate Schools

The documentation may be self-certified in accordance with the statutory provisions governing Substitute Declarations (Dichiarazioni sostitutive) (see example). It must contain the exact titles of the examinations taken, the Disciplinary Scientific Sectors, the number of credits per scientific sector, the score and the examination recording date. The applicant must sign the documents, otherwise they are not legally binding and cannot be accepted by the Selection Committee.

 

1.5 Results and Publication of the Ranking List of Students Admitted

With regard to the above points, at the end of the evaluation sessions, a merit-based ranking list will be published to the determine the number of admitted students relative to the places available.

 

In order to guarantee the established number of places, a student who has been positively evaluated for admission (green check) might not be able to enrol.

Enrolment will be enabled to students who appear in the merit-based ranking list as “admitted to enrolment”.

There is no scroll in the ranking, any available places will be useful for second semester enrollment.

1.6   Curricular Integrations

Curricular integrations are educational debits assigned to candidates graduating in categories other than L-23 in order to fill any curricular gaps. They are ECTS established by the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to) Master of Science) Admissions Commission and chosen from the courses of the first-level degree.

Enrolment on curricular integrations is performed through Online Services: "Admission to the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science): application submission, result consultation and enrolment".

Assignment of curricular integrations prevents enrolment on the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science), which may only be accessed following fulfilment of these and submission of a new admission application.

 

1.7    Examination Validation

Previous examinations taken by students transferred from other Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) Programmes may be validated if deemed compatible with the course catalogue of the degree programme applied for. As per University regulations, students transferred from other universities are required to take examinations at the Politecnico di Milano for at least 60 credits, plus the traineeship and final test.

Validations will be indicated in the career assessment and automatically uploaded to the Study Plan.

 

2 Admission to the Programme - Students with Foreign Degrees

International students from foreign universities are selected according to the times and methods indicated at http://www.polinternational.polimi.it/

As of the Academic Year 2021/2022, the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) programmes in the School of Architecture, Urban Planning and Construction Engineering will only accept new admissions of students with non-Italian qualifications in the first semester (September). 

The School will consider requests for admission deferment to the second semester (defer). Obtaining a deferment is subject to the availability of planned places. Students may apply for deferment from June to August. 

Students will be informed of the outcome of their request at the beginning of October 2022:  

• Students who have been granted the deferment will be asked to confirm it by paying the non-refundable administrative fee of €172.20 by a provided deadline.
• Students who have not been granted the deferment may reapply for the following academic year. 

 

3 Transfers and Changes

Transfer from other Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) Programmes or other universities is only permitted through submission of an admission application.

Transferred students’ previous examinations may be validated if deemed compatible with the course catalogue of the degree programme applied for.

Enrolment on a Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) is not a guarantee of transfer without educational debits. The Commission will always take into account the first-level Laurea (equivalent to Bachelor of Science) gained, applying current regulations.

Transfer to the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) in Management of Built Environment - Gestione del Costruito is not permitted for candidates enrolled at Italian universities on single-cycle Laurea Magistrale Programmes.  Students from foreign universities in countries with educational systems that do not include Laurea Triennale (equivalent to three-year Bachelor’s Degree) Programmes must guarantee enrolment on the 4th year of the programme, passing of examinations worth at least 180 ECTS credits and meeting of the minimum curricular requirements for category L-23.

 

4 Deadlines for First-Year Enrolment Administrative Procedures

The deadlines of all administrative procedures are published in the academic calendar. 

 

5 Study Plan

Students are required, under their own responsibility, to submit their individual Study Plan (www.polimi.it Online Services, Study Plan Submission).

The Plan is taken by the School as a supporting document for all intents and purposes. Its compilation also attests to the compliance of the choices made by the student with the rules specified by law and the provisions of the Programme Rules.

The Study Plan for the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) in Management of Built Environment - Gestione del Costruito consists of 120 ECTS, to be included in the Plan as required credits, subdivided as follows:

- single-subject or integrated courses

- traineeship

- final test

Please note: It is advisable to always save and print the Study Plan submitted.

Plan alteration requests will not be accepted. Submission of the Study Plan is definitive and must be performed within the deadlines and according to the procedures established by the School. When choosing courses, the teaching timetable must be consulted in advance in order to avoid timetable clashes.

 

5.1 Deadlines for Annual Study Plan Submission

Study Plan submission is performed through Online Services (www.polimi.it/servizionline > Customized Services > Career Data > Study Plan Submission), exclusively during the specific periods established by the academic calendar. 

The study plan submitted in September, according to the deadlines set by the School, must include the teachings for the entire academic year.

5.2   Half-year Change of Study Plan

Within a specific window set in the academic calendar, it will be possible to change the Study Plan submitted during the academic year in progress.

Half-year change of Study Plan is optional. Students not wishing to make any alterations do not need to change the Study Plan.

 

It is possible to change only courses included in the current academic year. It is not possible to add or deselect first-semester courses. Students must deselect the second-semester courses they wish to change.

 

5.3   Additional Payment

Through resolution of the Board of Governors, an additional payment of 100.00 euros is applicable for failure to submit the Study Plan within the deadlines established by the academic calendar.

 

5.4 Attendance

Once included in the study plan, teachings are listed as acquired attendance in the following years, giving the possibility to take the examination with the original professor as long as the latter remains active. If the student wishes to attend the teaching again, when filling the study plan for the following academic year (September), they can delete the previously acquired attendance and insert the same teachings (according to the active educational offer) as new attendance.

 

5.5 Courses as Extra

It is possible to add courses/educational activities to the Study Plan as extras. These courses will not count towards the overall credits required for admission to the final test and will not be used in calculation of the score average.

It is possible to change the status of a course from required to extra, and vice versa, during the annual Study Plan submission period.

For all regulations, reference should be made to the specific University guide.

 

5.5.1 Specifications for Programmes belonging to Laurea (equivalent to Bachelor of Science) Category L-23 - Building Science and Technology

In addition to the rules established by the University, students enrolled on Laurea (equivalent to Bachelor of Science) Programmes in:

may include in the A.Y. 2022/23, as extra, Politecnico di Milano Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) Programme courses in:

for a maximum of 32 ECTS.

Following enrolment on one of the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) Programmes listed above, these examinations will be assessed and recognised, if deemed eligible, as validation or attendance validation.

 

 

5.6   Course Priorities

The University, upon resolution of the Academic Senate, has established the following priority types:

 

 

Suggested priority	Does not establish any formal restriction. Aims to provide students with useful information on the sequence of courses but does not affect the composition of the Study Plan or examination recording.
Study Plan composition priority	Establishes a restriction which must be observed when choosing courses upon submission of the Study Plan. It is not possible for course ‘B’ to be included in the Study Plan if course ‘A’ (even if not passed) has not been included. This does not affect examination recording.
Examination recording priority	Establishes a restriction which must be observed both during Study Plan compilation and during 'positive' examination recording (passing of the course). It is not possible for ‘B’ to be recorded if ‘A’ has not been recorded.

 

 

The Management of Built Environment - Gestione del Costruito Programme does not impose strict constraints. The optimal sequence to be followed for the Programme is the one suggested by the course sequence established in the Degree Programme.

 

 

6 Traineeship

Students can carry out their traineeship from the first semester of the first year or at a later time, provided that it has been inserted in the Study Plan during the submission and change periods.

The School cooperates with professional associations, public administrations, local authorities and companies to organise external traineeship activities in order to ensure that students have the opportunity to earn the credits required by the educational system.

In addition, students may carry out a Practical Activity (traineeship) within the Departments of the Politecnico di Milano.

The rules on traineeship duration will be established by the Programmes, in accordance with the directives of the School. 7 Examinations

The uniformity of procedures for checking of learning across all sections of the same course and planning of these procedures is ensured through appropriate forms of coordination, in line with the directives of the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) Programme.

At the start of the academic year, each Professor will communicate the procedures for checking of learning, the content of the examination and the assessment criteria.

For each course (individual courses or studios) there are three exam sessions. Each exam session involves one or more exam session date as established by the School’s academic calendar.

Students may only participate in the exam sessions if duly registered, 

within the deadlines provided through the Online Services. At the end of the exam registration procedure, the system issues a receipt, to be saved and stored, that confirms the enrollment.

 

Students can register to an exam only if:

 

•        they paid all university tuition fees
•        that course is included in their Study Plan
•        they passed all propaedeutic exams related to the one to which they want to be registered
•        they attended the course, in case the attendance is compulsory

 

Students may also register after the deadline set by the School. In fact, they may register up until midnight of the actual exam date. In this case, the registration will be accepted as conditional, and it will be up to the teacher’s unappealable decision whether or the student not may be admitted to the exam in question.

Graduating students must observe the specific deadlines established by the academic calendar in order to permit completion, within the established deadlines, of the procedures for registration for the degree exam session.

 

8 Final Test

 

The Final Test of the Laurea Magistrale (equivalent to Master of Science) in Management of Built Environment - Gestione del Costruito consists of presentation and discussion of a final work (graduation work).
